Confronting Conformity is an observation about the influences of mass media and pop cultural on the youth of today. We continually become mystified by shiny polished accolades and achievements. Skateboards are iconic imagery for counter conformity to rule and regulation. There are deeper veins in all of us , both male and female have a surge in testosterone that causes us to mature in order to reproduce. Deer also have a surge in testosterone in order to grow antlers to fight for breeding rights. The Deer antlers are also a one to one depiction of the human female reproductive organs, the source of hormones. The sculptures are made from refined discarded soda cans collected from regional middle and high schools, also which contents are surrogates for testosterone.
